Foundry Chemicals

This is a group of chemicals which are used directly or after processing in foundries. They may be used as binders for sand (Furan Resins) or as catalysts in the binding process (such as PTSA or TEA).

Furfuryl Alcohol
(FA)

Main ingredient to manufacture furan resins, it is also a solvent for dyes and resins.

Tri Ethyl Amine
(TEA)

Is used as a catalyst for binding in the foundry resins industry, it acts as a cross-linking agent in foundry molds. It is also an intermediate for manufacture of herbicides and pesticides, solvent for pharmaceuticals.

Para Toluene Sulfonic Acid (PTSA)

PTSA is used as a catalyst and curing agent in the foundry resin industry.
